If you are passionate about advancing clinical excellence and patient safety, the RN Educator & Infection Preventionist role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization. In this position, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, including the clinical orientation and development of new employees. You will also lead infection prevention efforts by developing and overseeing the annual Infection Control Plan, evaluating program effectiveness, and reporting outcomes to leadership and key committees.

This role is ideal for a dedicated nursing professional who enjoys mentoring others, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and promoting best practices that support exceptional patient care and positive outcomes.

A RN Educator & Infection Preventionist who excels in this role:

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education programs and orientation of staff, students, volunteers and contracted nursing staff.
  • Evaluates educational needs of staff through various methods including QI programs, safety occurrence monitoring, changes in patient population served, and annual needs assessment.
  • Supports and aligns educational activities with best practice initiatives and hospital's quality improvement process.
  • Develops the annual hospital wide Infection Control Plan; evaluates the effectiveness of the program and reports findings to leadership and appropriate committees.
  • Assures systems are in place to report infection surveillance, prevention and control information to hospital staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Education:

    Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
  • BLS Required
  • At least 4 years of nursing experience required
  • Previous Education or Infection Prevention preferred
  • Previous Rehabilitation experience preferred
