As a Surgical Registered Nurse
, you will play a crucial role in providing direct nursing care to patients throughout their surgical procedures. You will ensure that everything in the OR runs smoothly, from preparation to post-operative care, while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
- Assist in the preparation and care of patients during the peri-operative period.
- Set up the OR using surgeon preference cards and ensure all necessary supplies are available.
- Verify patient identity, procedure, and surgical site before transport to the OR.
- Support anesthesia providers before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain scrupulous infection control standards and adhere to hospital policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the surgical team.
- Respond to emergencies and ensure proper operation of OR equipment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to different assignments.
- Commitment to patient safety and infection control standards.
- Team-oriented mindset - collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team.
- Current Oklahoma RN license
- BCLS required
; ACLS required for conscious sedation; PALS preferred - Completion of conscious sedation test
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as required in the OR
