RN Medicine Specialty – Medical Surgical

Contract | Onsite

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data; observes patient status and intervenes when necessary
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans during hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs;
  must be willing to precept new RNs

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience;
  solid stepdown/PCU experience required
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience precepting new graduate or newly hired RNs
