American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position at a comprehensive stroke center, requiring an active OK or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details- Work on a Neurosciences unit specializing in stroke and neuro patients, including ortho and spine cases
- Comprehensive stroke center setting
- Patient ratios of 3:1 for stroke/neuro patients and 5:1 for all other patients
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
- May be required to precept and possibly work in a virtual nursing room
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Provide direct patient care including medication administration, IV and blood product management, and monitoring of physiological data
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines for onboarding and documentation
- Returning travelers may only extend once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
