American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department position requiring an OK or compact RN license and prior ED or critical care experience.
Requirements- Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of one year of RN experience required
- Two years of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Freestanding Emergency Department setting
- Cares for a variety of patients with health issues ranging from simple to complex
- Performs EKGs, breathing treatments, phlebotomy, wound cultures, and Point of Care testing
- Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
- Communicates care plans with patients and families and provides discharge education
- Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates referrals as needed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed for late clearance
- Returning workers may only extend a contract once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
