Description:
Align behaviors with organizational values and maintain nursing professional practice standards. Assume responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervene when necessary.
Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products. Deliver patient care competently; seek coaching and mentoring from others as needed. Resolve patient complaints in a timely manner in accordance with policy and in collaboration with support staff. Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and share care plans during the time of care and at the time of discharge.
Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Foster a growth mindset through seeking mentorship, remaining open to coaching and feedback, and maintaining professional certification(s)/licensure to develop and uphold necessary skills. Develop a professional career plan and establish personal performance goals in alignment with enterprise-wide metrics, frequently measuring progress with department leadership. Foster an inclusive workforce where individual differences are valued to achieve organizational aspirations.
Delegate tasks to clinical support staff as needed. Interact with families and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Provide feedback and opportunities for others to learn through formal and informal methods. Perform other duties as assigned.
