Position SummaryPerforms data analysis to ensure a consistent, timely flow of accurate measurement data in compliance with contractual requirements, industry standards and company policy. Reviews measurement data for accuracy and makes necessary edits. Resolves questions and problems using principles for measurement in accordance with standardized processes. Develops recommendations to improve measurement processes based on analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor, analyze and make necessary edits as needed to incoming volume and quality data to assure accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with SCADA support team, communications technicians, measurement technicians, and external customers to resolve missing data issues.
- Estimate/edit missing custody transfer data that cannot be recovered using customer data, historical data and measurement experience.
- Review hourly, daily and monthly volumes to identify and correct erroneous, invalid, and questionable data, assuring data accuracy sent to customers and downstream departments.
- Set up new meters in the measurement system based upon contractual terms and SCADA configuration reports.
- Review historical data and system validation rules to evaluate incoming gas chromatograph and sample analysis data, ensuring it is reasonable and representative. Coordinate with field measurement personnel on resolving discrepancies.
- Evaluate incoming meter test data (Flow‑Cal TESTit) and apply meter test reports as necessary and determine if a current or prior period adjustment is needed.
- Maintain, generate, and distribute reports needed to evaluate the accuracy of measurement data.
- Compile and evaluate incoming Third‑Party (Outside Meter Volumes) measurement data and assure its agreement with check measurement data, where applicable.
- Report and troubleshoot physical pipeline L&U balances based on information compiled from pipeline operations, field measurement operations, and commercial data.
- Perform prior period adjustments when applicable, including creating the required documentation for SOX controls and accounting settlements.
- Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting pipeline balance data to assure accuracy, completeness, and make necessary edits to the data as needed.
- Work closely with the measurement balance analyst to resolve issues found during the balance review process.
- Review monthly system balances to identify and correct erroneous, invalid, and questionable data.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute various reports needed to evaluate and ensure the accuracy of balance data.
- Ensure that detailed records are properly maintained of all work performed, including new meter setups, data edits and balance configuration changes to ensure compliance with all company SOX controls.
- Work closely with customers and internal company departments to resolve measurement related issues.
- Maintain customer relations with internal and third‑party customers.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2–5 years of gas or liquid measurement experience.
- Flow Cal experience (Preferred).
- Office level proficiency with MS Outlook and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Aptitude for analyzing data.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with other stakeholders.
- Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
Office environment with normal working conditions. Must remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Occasional visits to field and/or industrial/manufacturing settings may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions, loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
