POSITION SUMMARY:

Avtron Power Solutions Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that incoming materials, fabricated components, products, and systems meet established quality standards and engineering requirements. Performs receiving, first article, in-process, and final inspections on parts, products, and systems. Participates in nonconforming material processing, maintains inspection and FAI records, and provides limited technical assistance, work direction, and training to production personnel as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrates Avtron Power Solutions values and commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Performs receiving inspection of incoming fabricated, machined, electrical, and purchased components against drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
  • Conducts First Article Inspections (FAI) on new or revised fabricated and machined parts and documents inspection results.
  • Performs dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using appropriate measuring and test equipment.
  • Reviews supplier certifications, material test reports, and quality documentation for compliance.
  • Identifies, documents, and assists in the disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Works closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to resolve supplier and production quality issues.
  • Performs in-process inspections during manufacturing operations.
  • Performs final inspections of completed products and systems after testing and prior to shipment.
  • Sets up, maintains, and supports calibration of inspection and test equipment.
  • Promotes 6S methodology and a safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Sets up and operates complex electrical test and inspection equipment to perform complex inspections. May recommend improvements in manufacturing assemblies and processes and in quality assurance controls. Defines and recommends resolutions for specific process or design problems with assistance.
  • Most assignments are performed under minimal supervision of more senior inspectors. Direction is both written and verbal.
  • Moderate physical effort involved in walking, standing,lifting,and carrying equipment.
  • Responsible for the proper use and care of electronic and mechanical testing and inspection equipment.
  • Under direction of supervisor, occasionally provides technical assistance,direction,and training tolower-level technicians.
  • Normal factory environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Requires specializedbasicknowledge of electronics, electricity and mechanics encompassing blueprint reading, wiring schematics, engineering drawings, etc., and to use standard and specialized inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO  quality standard.
  • Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of Avtron Power Solutions expectations regarding quality of parts, products and systems.
EDUCATION,

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:
  • Associate’s degree preferred in Engineering or related field; or high school diploma with equivalent experience in manufacturing operations for 5+ years.
Skills
  • Good communication and social skills are mandatory.
Experience
  • 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations with inspection experience
COMPUTER

SKILLS:
  • Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
