In our organization,
Inspector IV has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments by safely performing all facets of dimensional and non-destructive inspections and/or testing to determine if the parts received qualify for acceptance according to criteria as documented in the Engineering Drawings or established by Customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Select and effectively use appropriate inspection methods and equipment – including calipers, micrometers, gauges, FARO Arms or CMMs – to safely and efficiently perform inspections and testing. Responsibilities include programming the advanced measuring instruments (FARO, CMM), selection, and use of appropriate tooling/fixturing.
- Assist the Quality Control Supervisor with planning and assigning work tasks, training of inspection personnel with all aspects of the inspection process including but not limited to FARO Arm and CMM operations.
- Create, process, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection records and nonconformance reports (NCPs); evaluate nonconforming products and initiate NCPs as required.
- Assist in the coordination of NDE activities for the OSI-OKC Piper facility to include but not limited to services provided by external NDE suppliers both on and offsite. Perform all facets of the OSI-OKC Piper Liquid Penetrant testing including application and evaluation.
- Review purchase orders requirements against supplied documents and products, i.e., Material Test Reports, NDE reports, quantity, condition, etc., to ensure product meets or exceeds specified requirements.
- Perform inspections and tests with extremely high accuracy to confirm received parts are within tolerances established by the appropriate Engineering drawing.
- Assist in the implementation of new work processes to streamline all elements of production while assuring complete compliance with HSE and OSHA policies and practices.
- Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with OSI-OKC Piper calibration activities and training.
- Verify all testing equipment is calibrated and in active status prior to any inspection or test being performed.
- Create and/or process inspection reports, work with the Quality and Engineering departments on any inspection requests.
- Develop and generate CMM programs for efficient and precise CMM component inspections for new and existing components.
- Develop and maintain setup processes and CMM fixtures to facilitate highly accurate and consistent component inspections.
- Continuously review and improve CMM programs to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure inspection records are accurate, complete, and stored according to established departmental procedures.
- Safely, effectively, and efficiently perform testing duties with nearly 100% accuracy.
- Perform other inspection duties during automated cycles when safe and practical.
- Apply concepts of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) as needed.
- Effectively and efficiently use time to safely perform duties.
- Complete all paperwork in required manner and time.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn to produce new products, use new procedures, and embrace and support change.
