The Singh Lab at the OU Health Campus is filling this position through PEAK Temporary Staffing. The Research Technician provides assistance to research staff by conducting simple experiments, collecting data and samples, keeping records, conducting literature searches, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
Responsibilities- Conduct simple research and laboratory analysis including measuring and weighing compounds and solutions, isolating, identifying and preparing specimens, and collecting samples and other research data.
- Assist in simple clinical research projects, collecting data from patients and/or participants in a study or project.
- Collect various forms of data pertaining to the research project(s), including database information, patient consent forms, and/or hard files.
- Interpret and analyze data, discuss results with the principal investigator, and prepare progress reports.
- Keep detailed logs of all research-related activities.
- Conduct literature searches.
- Conduct data analyses, interpret results, summarize findings, and present to the principal investigator.
- Perform various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position.
Required: Bachelor's Degree in a Biological Science, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, or other health-related field.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months equivalent experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree.
No experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency with computers, including data software and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to collect and analyze data.
Standing for prolonged periods, manual dexterity, reaching, bending, stooping, and walking.
Environmental Working ConditionsLaboratory environment, exposure to chemicals, biohazardous materials, carcinogens, or other hazardous materials.
