What you’ll do

As a Walmart grocery associate, you will make important decisions about the quality of fruit, vegetables, and other grocery items our customers purchase. You will work in various fresh food areas to provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean, well‑stocked environment.

• Work in the deli and be on the front lines of customer service—your smile can make the difference between a good and a great shopping experience.
• In the bakery, help customers celebrate special moments by preparing cakes and assisting with orders.
• Work in the dry grocery department and ensure customers find the items they are looking for.
• Maintain detailed cleaning of shelves and the department; check and maintain temperature control, verify dates, and dispose of lower‑quality food products.

Other responsibilities include ensuring products are displayed properly, preparing and serving ready‑to‑eat food, and keeping the area clean and sanitized.

• Help customers find the products they are looking for.
• Ensure high‑quality products are available in produce, deli, bakery, dairy, meat, and other departments.
• Pack ready‑to‑sell products in proper containers and stock displays.
• Prepare and serve ready‑to‑eat food.
• Assist customers in ordering cakes, fulfilling deli orders, or finding the right produce.
• Keep area clean, sanitized, and customer‑ready.

* The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives and premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
