General Function:
Provides prompt and friendly service to customers and assists them when necessary. Operates cash register, replenishes supplies, and assists with cleaning tables.
Accountable to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce, Service Managers. No positions report to this role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience.
- Smile and greet customers; learn and address customers by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers with suggestions or requests to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
- Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Operate cash register accurately: scan products, report improper cash levels, redeem promotional coupons, receive cash/cheques/credit‑card charges, and issue receipts.
- Place merchandise in bags or boxes and deliver packages to customers.
- Ensure adequate supplies of silverware, condiments, and beverage cups for customer use.
- Refill and maintain coffee service area supplies, including cups, utensils, and condiments.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and neat.
- Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress guidelines, and company policies.
- Report to work on schedule and on time.
- Assist with bussing tables in Hickory House or Market Grille sit‑down areas.
- Assist with running out orders to sit‑down area from all food stations.
- Assist in other areas of store as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Follow detailed written or verbal instructions; handle concrete variables.
- Perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Make accurate change.
- Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information.
- Request supplies verbally or in writing.

Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Visual requirements include intermediate to full vision with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
WorkingConditions
Exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, cleaning chemicals, solvents, and a fast‑paced environment.
