Pay Range: $10-$12/hr (dependent upon experience)
This position is a seasonal role with an anticipated start date, end date and number of hours per week/month as outlined below. Employment is tied to seasonal business demands and is not guaranteed beyond the seasonal period. While there may be opportunities for other or intermittent hours outside of the stated period, any such hours are contingent upon business needs, workload, and operational requirements and do not change the seasonal nature of the position.
This position does not carry a guarantee of minimum hours or continued employment beyond the seasonal term. This will be a temporary, part-time and hourly position for employment related to the 2026 Oklahoma State Fair. No other benefits, except those required by law, apply. Applications will continue to be accepted until position has been filled.
OSF Livestock Shows:
- Assist with the following livestock shows and agricultural exhibit halls:
- OSF Dairy Cattle Show/Dairy Cattle Judging
- OSF Goat Show
- OSF Sheep Show
- OSF Llama & Alpaca Show
- OSF Poultry Show
- OSF Rabbit Show
- Serve as staff liaison, answering questions from potential participants, staff, officials and public.
- Assist with correspondence and communication, updating database and data entry for show entries, as well as processing and inputting results during the Fair.
- Serve as staff assistant during the Fair, processing competition entry forms, necessary reports and forms as required for each event/each day of the Fair.
- Assist in the preparation of competition sites, arranging and distribution of awards, results and tabulation. Responsibilities may require physical and manual labor.
- Other miscellaneous duties may be required at the discretion of senior Agri Business team members.
Gate 7:
- Assist with animal arrival and implementation of the associated and applicable policies and procedures relating to the main Livestock Gate (Gate
7) - Distribute Exhibitor Credentials
- Communicate with OSF management regarding any issues therein.
- Other duties as assigned
- Have access to daily, reliable transportation.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, calm demeanor in all situations.
- Be flexible as job instructions may change from time to time.
- Interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
- Previous customer service and personnel management experience preferred.
- Task prioritization and time management skills required.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully in English (speak, read, write).
- Maintain a high standard of appearance and hygiene (i.e., clean, wrinkle free clothing, proper uniform/attire, close attention to personal hygiene).
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software, especially Word, and Excel.
- A basic knowledge of the livestock industry and competition requirements/protocol is preferred.
- Must be comfortable and knowledgeable with regard to working around animals.
- Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
- Frequent or continual movement covering long distances with ease and normal physical mobility.
- Work indoors and outdoors in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
- Regularly lift, carry, and put away items weighing up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
- Stand or walk for extended periods.
- Other prolonged physical exertions may be required including, but not limited to, seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas.
- Must be able to commit to working part-time or full-time hours during the two weeks of the Fair (September 17 – 27).
* Could include evenings and weekends. Actual work hours are flexible and based upon agreement with the hiring manager. - Additional hours may be available prior to and immediately after the Fair.
- Multiple positions are available.
- Must attend the required paid training session, Monday, September 14 (approx. 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.).
- Shifts:
Wednesday, September 16:
Hours will be: 1st shift: 11:30 a.m - 4:30 p.m./ 2nd shift: 4:15 – 10:15p.m., Thursday, September 17 – Sunday, September 27: 1st shift: 6:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m./2nd shift: 2:15 to 10:15 p.m. - Identification badges will be provided for clocking in and out.
