Institutional & Specialty Sales Consultant, Cardiology — Oklahoma City, OK
We are hiring an Institutional and Specialty Sales (ISS) Consultant to lead launch activities for cardiovascular and renal portfolio products in the Oklahoma metropolitan area. This role drives demand, provides clinical education, and achieves sales by engaging hospitals, health systems, cardiologists and nephrologists.
PurposeThe ISS Consultant reports to the CVR Area General Manager and is part of the Area Customer Squad, collaborating closely with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services and other partners to drive US pharma outcomes.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Drive clinical demand, education and sales by building deep understanding of disease state, unmet needs and treatment options, and effectively educating healthcare professionals and business stakeholders on product benefits.
- Build institutional advocacy to drive formulary, pathway and protocol adoption of cardiovascular‑renal products.
- Co‑create and implement strategic business plans for priority institutions, leveraging knowledge of local market dynamics.
- Analyze market, competitors and cross‑functional activities to identify business opportunities and challenges.
- Develop key relationships with priority customers, including C‑ and D‑Suite staff and Heads of Pharmacy and Quality.
- Manage benefit‑plan and therapy committee processes at priority institutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and pull through strategic partnerships.
- Support Area General Managers on strategic projects as needed.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulations and ethical standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of successful relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes.
- Deep expertise and understanding of the cardiovascular and/or renal therapeutic areas.
- Experience launching new products and product indications.
- Excellent facilitation and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or business‑related field.
- 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience.
- Experience selling in institutions and clinic settings and navigating the P&T committee process.
- Experience establishing and pulling through inpatient‑to‑outpatient protocols.
