Position: Mud Logger / Mud logging Technician – Oklahoma

Position Title: Mud Logger / Mud logging Technician

Location: Oklahoma (Anadarko Basin, Arkoma Basin, Cherokee Platform)

Schedule: Rotational, 12-hour shifts

Employment Type: Full-Time / Project-Based

Position Overview

Strata graph is seeking experienced Mud Loggers / Mud logging Technicians for operations throughout Oklahoma. Ideal candidates will have hands‑on experience in the Anadarko Basin, Arkoma Basin, and Cherokee Platform, along with a strong understanding of wellsite geology and drilling operations.

This role is responsible for delivering accurate, real‑time geological data to clients while maintaining a high standard of communication, reporting, and equipment reliability on location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform continuous on-site geological monitoring of the wellbore
  • Collect, describe, and analyze drill cuttings for lithology and hydrocarbon indicators
  • Monitor gas, oil shows, and drilling parameters in real time
  • Communicate effectively with client Geologists, Engineers, and Operations teams
  • Provide detailed written and verbal reports multiple times per shift
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot mud logging equipment daily
  • Identify geological changes and zones of interest throughout the wellbore
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
Work Environment
  • Field-based work on active drilling locations
  • Exposed outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust, etc.)

Job Requirements
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in exposed environments for rotations of up to 3 weeks or longer
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
    , with an emphasis on Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and adapt in fast-paced drilling environments
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
    , bend, sit, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in remote, outdoor field locations
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3–5 years of wellsite geology / mud logging experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation to and from remote work locations
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Pre‑employment drug screening

Preferred:

  • B.S. in Geology or related field
  • Experience working in Oklahoma basins (Anadarko, Arkoma, Cherokee Platform)
  • Additional experience in other U.S. basins is a plus
Expectations

As a Mud Logger with Strata graph, you will be responsible for on-site geological evaluation of the wellbore while drilling. This includes delivering accurate, timely data to clients, maintaining equipment integrity, and clearly documenting geological changes using cuttings, gas, and oil analysis. High attention to detail, professionalism, and communication are essential to success in this role.
