ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors. Provide protection and security of Oklahoma Heart Hospital assets, and stress safety and security awareness.
- Monitor staff and patrol campus, ensuring prompt response to all staff members according to an approved job description.
- Work directly with other staff members in performing safety responsibilities, identifying efficiency improvement solutions and problem causes.
- Display a caring and compassionate attitude toward everyone and respond to and assist with the needs of others.
- Enforce OHH policies and procedures fairly among all staff personnel.
- Maintain a daily activity log, prioritize personal work assignments and prepare reports in established formats and time frames.
- Maintain records of combination locks, parking area cards, employee parking decals, lost and found items and patient valuables storage according to policy and procedure.
- Perform notary public duties according to Oklahoma State Law.
- Escort employees, visitors, patients and various department personnel with or without cash and/or valuables, ensuring timely delivery to proper destinations.
- Transport staff and visitors as required, adhering to all safety precautions and established procedures.
- Monitor effectiveness of safety measures for all grounds, conduct fire drills, perform inspections and safety surveys, and participate in professional development activities.
- Attend mandatory department meetings and in‑services, and participate in at least one professional development seminar per year.
- Respond to all fire alarms and other emergency codes, serving as an active member of the Fire Response Team and related groups.
- Monitor all authorized and unauthorized entries, ensuring doors are locked/unlocked appropriately during normal and off‑duty hours.
- Observe and report broken locks or forced entries during patrols, utilizing proper documentation forms.
- Provide general assistance and maintenance duties such as jump‑starts, tire changes, and preparing work orders.
- Provide orientation to forensic staff accompanying prisoners/inmates per safety packet instructions.
- Education: High school diploma.
- Licensure/Certification: C.L.E.E.T. (Armed) certification required.
- Experience: Previous law enforcement and/or hospital security experience preferred.
- Working Knowledge: Knowledge of criminal and civil laws, investigative, technical, personnel management and interview skills. Ability to assist with conflict mediation, budget, training, and strong customer service skills.
