POSITION SUMMARYThe Security Supervisor is responsible for partnering with the Chief of Security to oversee and ensure the safety and protection of the museum’s 175,000 sq. ft. facility. This role is key in maintaining a secure environment for the museum’s collections, properties, facilities, visitors, and staff, while also delivering exceptional customer service. The Security Supervisor will manage security operations and coordinate with emergency services to ensure readiness in the event of any incidents or emergencies.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visually, electronically, or audibly monitors a variety of assigned areas, or grounds by working in a variety of assignments including but not limited to roving inside the facilities and other locations deemed appropriate.
- Leads a team of security guards.
- Ensures actions and those of others observe maximum level of safety and compliance.
- Verbally de-escalate situations to ensure the safety of fellow employees, customers and clients.
- Directly supervise, support and coordinate the activities and post of security personnel.
- Ensures all activities and personnel comply with appropriate safety requirements and sound business practices.
- Makes weekly schedule and Post assignments for security personnel.
- Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety, active shooter protocol.
- Examines doors, windows, and other areas of the store to determine they are secure.
- Reports and records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
- Routinely checks heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, etc., systems to make sure they are operational.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Unarmed Security Guard Licensure from CLEET.
- At least two (2) years full-time Professional Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience.
- Pass FAM’s background, psychological, and regulatory screening requirements.
- Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees and guests.
- Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol screening and quarterly randoms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (email and calendar management).
- Ability to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
- Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment and decision-making, and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Speak, understand, read, and write English.
- Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company.
SUPERVISION: The Security Supervisor reports to the Chief of Security.
GUIDELINES: The Security Supervisor is to adhere to the policies and ethics of FAM at all times. Employee shall wear the Security uniform as per policy and asks for assistance on any matters or answers to any questions not covered by this job description.
SERVICE: The Security Shift Supervisor provides services to ensure the protection and safety of the 175,000 sq. ft. Museum, providing a safe and secure environment for the museum’s collections, properties, facilities, visitors, and staff while delivering superior customer service.
