Public Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide fire, safety, and security protection for Mercy's coworkers, patients, and visitors. Promotes and practices fire and safety prevention. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education:
  • High School Diploma
  • 18 years of age or older
• Licensure:
  • Valid State drivers license
  • Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required (within 90 days of hire)
• Experience:
• Certification/Registration:
  • Complete Basic 16hr Public Safety/Security course within 180 days of hire (May be done as part of licensure)
  • Federal, State, and Municipal licensure allowable time frames will have precedence over internally established time frames for IAHSS certification.
• Other Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to read and write the English language

  • College degree
• Licensure:
  • Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required.
• Experience:
  • Previous Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience
• Certification/Registration:
  • N/A
