Security Officer – Bicycle Patrol

FLSA Status:
Hourly Non-Exempt

General Definition:
Responsible for the safety and well‑being of team members and guests. Patrols parking lots and adjacent areas to provide a deterrent to crime.

• Patrol parking lots and adjacent areas on bicycle or on foot
• Provide directions and escorts to guests in need
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime
• Interview individuals and investigate security breaches
• Assist law enforcement as needed
• Prepare security incident reports and accident reports
• Enforce internal security policies and procedures
• Perform other duties that may be assigned

Education
:
High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel
• Strong customer service orientation
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Problem‑solve in a variety of situations with limited standardization
• Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Operate a bicycle safely in a variety of climates and weather conditions
• Speak clearly and de‑escalate situations when needed
• Know basic state laws pertaining to private security
• Work around horses or livestock
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Training and Experience

• Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred

Licenses/Certifications/Other

• Current CLEET phase 4‑armed license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• CPR, first aid, AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Complete pre‑employment drug test with a negative result
• Pass a background check and receive any regulatory agency license or permit required to perform essential job functions

• Stand, sit, walk, and bike continuously.

• Lift or move up to 30 lbs and push, pull, or drag up to 100 lbs.

• Perform prolonged sitting, standing, walking, or biking; requires mobility, eye/hand coordination, and manual dexterity.

• Step, bend, climb, crawl, and reach in all directions.

• Use office equipment.

• Speak, hear, and communicate regularly; noise levels vary from light to moderate.

• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception; may need corrective lenses.

• Work in a fast‑paced, smoke‑filled casino environment; occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

• Tolerate various climates and temperatures, including outdoor and climate‑controlled indoor conditions.

• Moderate exposure to close proximity to horses.

• Handle potentially irate or difficult guests or staff members.
