Job Summary
Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by offering security services for staff, patients, and premises, and serves as a first responder to urgent facility matters. Acts as a role model and guide to junior officers.
Responsibilities- Conduct interior and exterior rounds to protect property and staff, observe for safety and security issues, theft, and monitor parking lots.
- Promote visitor and employee safety by providing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming proper elevator operation, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints, and escorting staff and clients as requested.
- Respond to overhead pages or assistance requests, escort emergency personnel through the building, and provide post‑mortem services.
- Provide professional customer service in complex and dynamic situations, using a proactive approach to identify safety and security hazards through communication with clinical staff.
- Observe and report any security concerns or assessments.
- Complete incident reports and shift logs and forward them to appropriate individuals.
- Assist with maintenance such as alarm testing, life safety equipment checks, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, and door integrity checks.

- Conduct regular fire alarm, elopement, infant abduction, and panic alarm testing.

- Possibly operate a motor vehicle for patrol.

High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.

Additional RequirementsFollowing extension of a conditional offer of employment, the applicant must successfully complete a psychological assessment to confirm suitability for the rigors of providing security services as described.
Physical RequirementsMust hold a valid driver’s license and satisfy state‑specific security or law‑enforcement licensing requirements, which vary by state (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, St.Charles County, and St.Louis Metropolitan Police Department). Specific requirements include motor vehicle reports, permanent employee registration cards, and active law‑enforcement officer licensing where applicable.
