Full time

Responsible for security of and access control to Air National Guard facilities and compounds in conjunction with the current Force Protection Condition (FPCON) as a Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) certified Armed Security Officer.

• Control access to the facility by verifying identity and purpose of individuals seeking entrance.
• Provide identification checks at gate entrance; maintain visitor logs and issue visitor passes.
• Greet and assist visitors and vendors and keep a proper count of individuals within the installation.
• Monitor facility using video camera systems, alarms, and personal inspection.
• Physically check each door, vault, armory, and outbuildings for intruders and regularly review video monitors.
• Perform identification checks, vehicle searches and ensure all personnel present proper identification.
• Contact National Guard Representative if soldiers do not provide proper military identification.
• Deny entrance to individuals not authorized for access.
• Perform random vehicle searches as warranted by FPCON level and probable cause.
• Provide direction and assistance to individuals seeking entrance and telephone callers, and refer callers to appropriate personnel and departments.
• Notify County Sheriff if assistance is warranted.
• Prepare documentation and daily logs for all incidents, security violations or concerns.
• Develop shift rotations, manning of locations, counsel individuals, and submit requests for supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a current Armed Security Guard License and attend CLEET mandated training annually.
• Manage key control program and conduct key inventory.
• Assist with development and implementation of staff training programs.
• Work day shift, swing shift, or night shift as required.

Eighteen months of experience in security or law enforcement work or direct care of juveniles in a secure residential facility.

Knowledge of routine security practices; ability to follow oral and written instructions; give clear and concise directions; make oral and written reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships; effectively evaluate emergency situations; knowledge of supervisory principles and practice and ability to supervise the work of others.

Licenses/Certificates required: current Armed Security Guard License through CLEET.

Standing for long periods; work in all weather conditions; ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds.

• Weapon retention techniques; intermediate weapon (expandable baton) performance for 15 seconds.
• Handcuffing technique within 2 minutes.
• 21 pushups in two minutes, 29 sit-ups in two minutes.
• 1 ½ mile walk within 31:30 minutes or 1 mile run within 13:30 minutes or 300 meter sprint in 81 seconds.

• Federal position contingent on continuous federal funding.
• Contingent on favorable NCIC/OSBI background check.
• Contingent on passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
• Require T3 (secret) security clearance and eligibility for national positions only for U.S. citizens.
• Contingent on passing PAT within required time limit and signing PAT agreement.
• Contingent on favorable medical exam.
• Employee considered essential personnel required to work during inclement weather.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Tobacco and vape free facility.
• FLSA non-exempt; 12 month probationary period.
