Heavy Equipment Operator - Dirt Crew

• Full-Time

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to drive/operate and control large equipment and vehicles including bulldozers, backhoes, front end loaders, scraper/tractor pans, track hoes, motor graders, mixers, and water trucks.

• Operate and control heavy equipment listed (bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, scraper/tractor pans, track hoes, motor graders, mixers, water trucks)
• Unload equipment from vehicles and ensure proper placement for operation
• Understand and adjust machine settings as needed for performance
• Maintain equipment functionality and perform preemptive maintenance to prevent malfunctions
• Keep performance records of machine functionality regularly
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections/evaluations of equipment

Hand and foot coordination, good communication skills (oral and written), ability to work as a team, strong critical thinking, high attention to detail, and ability to make decisions that prevent accidents and property damage. Physical ability to work in a strenuous environment and operate heavy equipment.

• Must pass background check, drug screen/physical
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
• Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Must perform physical tasks (bending, standing, crouching, shoveling, etc.)
• Adhere to safety requirements and procedures
