Position Title: Event Technician / Engineer - Full Time Hourly

Department: Fair Park

Reports To: Facilities Senior Manager

Supervises: N/A

Classification: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay Range: $14-$18/hr (dependent upon experience and knowledge)

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance support for all OKC Fair Park facilities.
  • Provide first line of technical support for all public events.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter changes, door/lock repair, installation of network cabling and VOIP phone systems.
  • Properly construct, install and repair computer cabling.
  • Assist the Facilities Senior Manager and on-duty Event Managers with any tasks, responsibilities, or special projects as directed.
  • File periodic reports as required.
  • Operate vehicles and machinery as required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Assist in other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Requirements
  • Ability to perform work at significant heights while on ladders and mechanical lifts.
  • Obtain forklift license through on-site training.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Experience working live events is a plus.
  • Level 1

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of 8-ohm and 70-volt sound systems and ability to set up both types.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of simple mechanical systems and ability to conduct minor repairs with hand tools.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, sprinkler and plumbing systems.
  • Basic knowledge of 120/208V electrical systems.
  • Level 2

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Configure an advanced matrix paging system.
  • Troubleshoot and configure devices for WIFI access.
  • Troubleshoot complex audio systems (70-volt and 8-ohm).
  • Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet computer networks.
  • Troubleshoot wet and dry sprinkler systems.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm systems.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Extended hours, nights and weekends may be required during peak periods.
  • Frequent or continual movement from place to place with normal physical mobility, covering long distances with ease, managing assigned tasks throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within and around the property and in potentially inclement/severe weather conditions.
  • Regularly lift, carry and put away items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry heavier items and/or assist others in lifting heavier objects, as job demands.
  • Walk and/or stand for extended periods in addition to other prolonged physical exertions including seeing, hearing, reaching, grasping, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas may be required.
