Job Overview
Vortex Doors, America’s highest quality and most customer‑centric commercial and industrial door repair company, is seeking a motivated Experienced Commercial Door Technician with at least 4+ years of door industry experience.
Key Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, and repair various commercial doors, docks, and related hardware using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Diagnose and conduct routine repair door‑related issues such as broken springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components, with optional welding training available.
- Install and configure door hardware, including locks, handles, closers, low‑voltage and access control systems.
- Ensure all installed doors meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repair processes, and offering solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations, and provide reports as required.
- Conduct quality checks on installations and repairs to ensure they meet Vortex’s quality standards.
- Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
- Physically able to move items weighing 50 lbs or higher and lift, bend, climb ladders up to 20 ft, work on knees for extended periods, and proficiently operate power tools.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to relate to customers and collaborate with others in fast‑paced environments.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of commercial door service industry experience.
- AAADM certified is a plus.
- Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware; ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations involving fractions and accurate tape measuring.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Basic computer skills.
- Industry‑best training in a state‑of‑the‑art facility covering commercial and retail door openings, hardware, storefront glazing, and automatic doors.
