Overview
Johnson Controls seeks a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to provide repair and maintenance services for sprinkler and suppression systems across commercial, industrial, and residential applications. The role requires handling service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnosing equipment failures, performing repairs, and delivering high‑level customer service.
Responsibilities- Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center and review brief descriptions of equipment/system malfunctions.
- Contact customer representatives to confirm issues.
- Diagnose and repair fire sprinkler systems, including wet (steel, copper, CPVC), dry, pre‑action, deluge, and fire pump systems.
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, and modification notices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specification software, schematics, and operational product manuals.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times and maintain the required certificates.
- 3–5years of documented experience in the fire sprinkler service industry performing service and repair for sprinkler and suppression systems.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overnight travel may be required; participation in an emergency on‑call rotation.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to carry and move equipment up to 70lbs and to work at heights up to 60ft, in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
- Capacity to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must maintain a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and high‑level customer service.
- NICET Level II certification
- Backflow (Edison) certification
- Sprinkler Inspector License
- Fire alarm license
Hourly rate: $24.50–$33.00 (determined by education, experience, skills, and market data). The position includes a competitive benefits package.
