DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of mechanics and technicians.
Assign and prioritize repair and maintenance tasks.
Monitor work progress to ensure timely and quality completion.
Operate diagnostic tools and software to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, identify faults, and ensure proper function after repairs.
Ensure all shop work complies with company safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts inventory.
Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance of machinery and vehicles and minimize downtime.
Assist with hands-on mechanical work as needed.
Order parts, supplies, and tools within budget guidelines.
Ensure that responses to emergency repair situations occur in a timely manner.
Ensure that job-related tools and equipment are always maintained and in usable condition.
Conduct performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
Participate in hiring and onboarding of shop personnel.
Any other duties as assigned that align with the nature of this positionQUALITIFICATIONSJob qualifications may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Technical or trade school certification preferred.
ASE Master Tech Required5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, diesel technician, or similar role.
2+ years of supervisory or lead mechanic experience.
Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment.
Strong knowledge of street sweeper trucks, including mechanical broom sweepers, vacuum sweepers, and regenerative air sweepers.
Proficient in using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Physically fit, able to lift 50+ lbs without restrictions, able to stand, bend, or lift for extended periods
Able to work in various weather conditions.
Familiarity with company safety procedures and protocols
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Must be organized and have a strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with job-related OSHA and DOT regulations.
