ADB is seeking a Laborer II to provide outside‑plant (OSP) installation support on utility construction project sites. The Laborer II must have proven experience working in a utility construction environment and possess the technical knowledge, skills, and experience to safely operate equipment such as mini, drill, hydro, and/or bucket trucks. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality‑centric, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and embody an ALL IN attitude to achieve results.
ROLESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general manual labor in all weather conditions, including hand digging, installing utilities, moving material, inspecting ground conditions, and ensuring traffic control.
- Support the crew with job‑site setup and closeout tasks, such as loading and unloading trucks, taking photos, setting up cones and traffic signs, and prepping equipment.
- Operate one or more types of heavy equipment (directional drill, mini excavator, hydro truck, bucket truck) independently with limited guidance from an experienced operator.
- Consistently meet production expectations set by the foreman and/or management.
- Take initiative and actively engage in training alongside experienced operators and the foreman to learn installations and equipment operations. Possess a general understanding and comfort with safety risks in a safety‑sensitive position.
- Read construction prints and drawings proficiently.
- Under training and supervision, locate utilities at a basic level.
- Understand the 811 locate process and problem‑solve findings in accordance with ADB’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain basic knowledge of daily redline and production reports.
- Adhere to safety culture and expectations, leading by example and actively participating in pre‑task, good‑catch, and safety assessment standards.
- Provide training and support to entry‑level laborers, ensuring compliance with ADB’s operating and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested.

- Requires wearing common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots.
- 1+ year of utility construction experience required.
- 6+ months of equipment operating experience of one of the following: drill, hydro, mini, bucket truck.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a company vehicle preferred.
- Class A CDL license preferred.
- Competent Person and OSHA 10 certifications preferred (ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
The starting pay for this position is $24.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
