Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team.
The Field Service Technician IV performs the most complex installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications of equipment at the job site. The technician installs, commissions, tunes, repairs, and troubleshoots Natcom and other industrial burners, Nebraska I.W.T boilers, and auxiliary equipment. The technician completes project status reports, site reports, and combustion datasheets. The technician performs in‑shop equipment inspections and Field Acceptance Tests. The technician performs all other pertinent service‑related duties as directed by the Service Manager.

- Must possess thorough and relevant product knowledge.
- Position requires regular exercise of problem‑solving skills.
- Performs most complex installations, repairs, troubleshooting, performance testing and/or modifications of equipment at job site.
- Assigns, instructs and oversees customers (or subcontractors) in the performance of technical duties.
- Functions as lead technician in assigning and prioritizing workload. Ensures that daily operations are maintained and provides input for performance appraisals.
- Maintains sound working relationships and liaison with customer personnel to maintain the image of the Company and its products.
- Conducts customer training as needed.
- Must have ability to travel – generally by air and utilization of a rental car – extensively in conducting position responsibilities.
75% travel – Domestic and International;
Must have or have the ability to obtain valid US Passport.
Promote sales of spare parts and identify potential opportunities for new equipment sales. Others as directed.
EducationHigh School Diploma/GED
Preferred1 year of additional Training/Certification
ExperienceMinimum 8 years experience consisting of:
- Previous commissioning experience of industrial‑size burners ranging from 20 to 350 mm BTU/hr firing either #2, #6 and natural gas.
- Working knowledge of PLC and FIREYE‑based Burner Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of combustion control – i.e., single point, parallel positioning and metered systems, loop controllers.
- Good problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Work requires skilled, accurate, rapid, and closely coordinated manual skill. Work requires mostly moderate physical exertion. Must be capable of entry into confined spaces such as windbox and furnace through standard access door sizing.
Working Conditions and HazardsLimited exposure to one or two extremely disagreeable features. Exposure to hazards that may result in short‑term work‑related absences.
