Fire Sprinkler Technician

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install fire sprinkler systems; maintain piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems.
• Install pipe systems and valves.
• Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings.
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
• Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter apprentices and helpers on proper installation techniques and company policies.

• Advanced technical school training or related work experience (preferred).
• Current Fire Sprinkler License (required).
• 3–5 years experience installing pipe systems and valves (required).
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, customer service skills, decision‑making skills, ability to multitask, and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with employees and customers.

• Ability to operate a computer or tablet and read electronic blueprints.
• Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is preferred.

• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy and background‑screening requirements.
• Frequent local travel and occasional regional and non‑regional travel.
• Exposure to fumes, odors, electrical hazards, chemicals, moving machinery, uneven surfaces; must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by safety policies.
