Building Electronics Technician
This job is being posted across two skill levels (Associate / Level I and Staff / Level II). Applicants will only be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify. Responsible for installation, maintenance, and operation of Building Electronic Systems to include the building automation system, fire alarm control systems and protection systems, security access controls and camera systems, fuel monitoring systems and coordination of connections and interlocks to fire alarm control systems, commercial Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS)/generator systems, and HVAC systems, central plant equipment, fire protection systems, EV charging systems and related systems.
Responsible for the installation, programming maintenance, calibration, inspection and operational testing of all computer hardware and software to ensure reliable system performance.
General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.
Provide technical expertise related to installation, maintenance and performance of building automation systems including camera, card access, central plant and energy management systems, and interlocks to fire alarms, standby generators, UPS and Underground and Above ground Storage Tanks (UST's/AST's) to work groups. Ensure proper documentation of systems for future reference including SAP, redline drawings and programming records. Recommend equipment, and system updates, as well as provide technical support for the corporate security departments.
Coordinate implementation of Security Plan and ensure Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Appendix G compliance, member safety feasibility, systems approach and integration. Provide off-site facility automation control. Program, monitor, calibrate, inspect, and perform operational testing on electronic control systems (automated facility control, security, card access, fire and video). Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of EV charging stations, including troubleshooting electrical, network, and software-related issues to ensure reliable operation and uptime.
Provide hydronic and air balancing for HVAC systems. Work with Facilities and Construction Management to upgrade or install new processes and equipment. Maintains periodic maintenance schedules. Perform maintenance on central plant equipment. Assist and train junior technicians. Coordinate and plan preventative and corrective maintenance on plant and facility equipment. Perform diagnostic testing, preventative maintenance, and firmware/software updates on EV charging infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety standards, documenting service activities, and coordinating repairs to meet operational requirements.
All other duties as assigned.
May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs. May require travel. May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground. May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays. Requires working with multi-craft crew. May be exposed extreme conditions and inclement weather.

Lifting up to 50 lbs, Carrying up to 50 lbs. Ability to plan for and schedule facility maintenance. Strong computer and software skills. Knowledge of HVAC equipment. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Contribute to the organizations success by applying talent and knowledge in a team environment. Knowledge of testing equipment. Mechanical or Electrical Journeyman license is a plus. Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and construction documents.
In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal building codes and safety regulations. Strong knowledge of computer software such as MS Office or SAP. 2+ years' equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field. Niagara software knowledge and experience a plus.

Salary Range Associate: $54,246 - $67,808 Staff: $65,520 - $81,869
