Door and Door Hardware Technician

General Manager or Franchise Owner

The Door and Door Hardware Technician position is an integral part of Fly Lock Security Solutions in Oklahoma City and is key to the growth of the company. The role requires working well in a high‑paced environment, functioning both independently and as part of a team, with a technical mindset. Ideal candidates have locksmithing knowledge and can learn new technical methods and techniques.

• Perform emergency work orders for commercial clients.
• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential door and door hardware.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, door frames, and door hardware.
• Install automatic sliding doors and swing doors.
• Install metal, wood, and glass doors.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning doors, frames, and hardware.
• Interpret blueprints and diagrams for installation.
• Interpret a variety of instructions in written, diagram, or schedule form.
• Troubleshoot with a variety of variables in situations.
• Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used.
• Read operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and commercial clients.
• Perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

• Receive verbal instructions from management or clients/customers.
• Perform projects as directed by management.
• Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical hands‑on field experience in door installation, automatic doors, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
• Good relationship‑building skills with a diverse population including all customers’ partners, technicians, and other company employees.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple functions at the same time.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Capable of working effectively as part of a team.
• Able to work safely on ladders.
• Ability to drive in compliance with company vehicle policy.
• Provide a high level of timely and accurate customer service.
• Communicate effectively with clients to determine needed services.
• Respond to general inquiries from customers/clients.

• Must be fluent in understanding, speaking, and writing English.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to kneel, crouch, and stoop.
• Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
• Ability to climb a ladder and work above ground.
• Withstand external weather conditions year‑round.
