Blue Worx is seeking a skilled and dependable Ford Diesel & Transmission Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on diesel trucks and transmission systems. This role is ideal for technicians with strong mechanical aptitude, specialized diesel and transmission expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality automotive service.
The Ford Diesel & Transmission Technician will be responsible for accurately diagnosing vehicle concerns, completing diesel and transmission repairs efficiently, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Position OverviewThe Ford Diesel & Transmission Technician performs inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and transmission systems while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to dealership or shop standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics and repair work on diesel trucks and transmission systems
- Complete maintenance services including:
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Transmission repair and rebuilds
- Brake repairs
- Suspension work
- Steering components
- Fluid services
- Electrical diagnostics
- Inspect vehicles and identify recommended repairs
- Communicate repair needs and additional findings to management
- Complete repair orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and hazardous material handling requirements
- Complete manufacturer or shop training as required
- Provide professional and respectful customer interactions
- Use shop software and systems for repair documentation and workflow management
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or vocational automotive training preferred
- Minimum 2 years of diesel and transmission technician experience preferred
- Ford diesel and transmission certification or experience strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Professional attitude with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple repair orders and tasks
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Strong troubleshooting ability with diesel engines and transmission systems
- Ability to understand service manuals, repair procedures, and safety guidelines
- Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
- Standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting throughout the shift
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional assisted lifting over 100 lbs
- Ability to work in awkward positions during repairs
- Exposure to loud environments, vehicle exhaust, heat, and cold
- Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and operate vehicles safely
- Automotive repair shop environment
- Exposure to moving vehicles, tools, fluids, and mechanical equipment
- Moderate to loud noise levels throughout the facility
