Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Collaborate with Journeymen in servicing centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems.
- Perform system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for a fast‑growing HVAC business in North America.
- Diagnose problems and provide solutions and quotes to customers, including upsell opportunities.
- Travel 50‑75% of the time to support branch customers and activities.
- Participate in the Service Technical Academy (STA) training and safety program.
- Use vibration equipment, dial indicators, and laser tools for mechanical shaft alignment and drive‑line diagnostics.
- Member or willingness to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry (UAPPI) or equivalent.
- Minimum eight (8) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in HVAC, petrochemical, or data‑center environments.
- Hands‑on experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia or hydrocarbon system components.
- Maintenance of ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
- Ability to install complete systems such as chillers, rooftop units, plumbing, and supporting mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and lasers.
- Skill in troubleshooting drive lines with vibration equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and Universal EPA refrigerants license, plus applicable state or local licensing.
- Success in a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Hourly pay: $38.25 per hour, determined by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Participation in the Service Plus Rewards program.
