Engineering Technician

Five Rivers Analytics is looking for an Engineering Technician to work in Oklahoma City, OK. The Contractor shall perform troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and installation services for designated equipment at the request of FAALC Product Divisions or Groups. Labor categories required to provide these services may include Electronics Technicians and Engineering Technicians as necessary to meet specific task requirements.

Engineering Technician Services:
The Contractor shall provide engineering technician services to the various FAALC Product Divisions to help assure that electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment meets serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements. These services may include tasks such as assembling, repairing and refurbishing equipment, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; performing equipment performance analyses and data collection and reporting; and installing equipment and modifications. The Contractor shall complete all tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
  • Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
  • Circuit board testing and repair
  • Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses. Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
  • Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
  • Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
  • Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
  • Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
  • Maintenance on the inside and outside of tower structures at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet. Labor includes, but not limited to, installation, removal and maintenance of communication antennae, surveillance systems, safety wire, tower guy wire pull-off shackles and tower obstruction lighting systems.
  • Moderate lifting and carrying (50 lbs.), straight pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers and both hands required, walking and standing, repeated bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling (use of both legs and arms), operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle, both eyes required with depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted).
  • Attend all Training Classes as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for all systems including all Safety related courses.
  • Support Preventive Maintenance, (PM's) on FAA and interagency systems, in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
  • Support Corrective Maintenance, (CM's) on FAA and interagency systems in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic/electro-mechanical systems to include fault isolation, removal, and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU's) required to return the system to full operational capability. Training, procedures, or guidance will be provided.
  • Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC).
  • Enters time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours.
  • Keeps Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.
  • Tower Climbing / Work at heights in excess of 50'.
  • Performing corrosion control and prevention.
  • Operation of equipment such as boom man lifts and motorized forklifts.
  • Working from ropes at heights.
  • Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
  • Due to the limitations of fall protection gear, the minimum weight for an applicant is 125lbs, the maximum weight is 290lbs.
  • Position requires traveling, up to 70%, and may entail emergency call outs for corrective maintenance as required.
  • Assists crew lead with workload scheduling and planning.
  • Meets with internal customers and may coordinate with external customers regarding projects.
  • Assists junior technicians with technical tasks and may be required to provide on the job training.
  • Assists crew lead in project package reviews and provides feedback to internal customers.

Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology and completion of formal technical training courses is required for level II.
  • Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successful complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
