Electrical Panel Builder

This hands-on role focuses on building high-quality control panels used in applications such as oil and gas drilling, construction, and space exploration. You will assemble and wire electrical control panels by interpreting schematics and blueprints, ensuring that each panel meets precise specifications and safety standards. The position requires working on your feet for extended periods and safely lifting up to 50 pounds while performing detailed electrical assembly tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Build and assemble electrical control panels for use in oil and gas drilling, construction, space exploration, and other industrial applications.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to complete panel builds accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform electrical wiring within control panels, including routing, cutting, stripping, and terminating wires according to specifications.
  • Select and use appropriate wire gauges, including correctly identifying and differentiating between 12-gauge and 14-gauge wire, to ensure safe and reliable installations.
  • Install and mount electrical components and hardware within control panels, such as breakers, relays, contractors, and terminal blocks.
  • Assist with machinery installation and integration of control panels into industrial equipment as needed.
  • Inspect completed panels for quality, accuracy, and compliance with design requirements and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic wiring or assembly issues identified during build or testing processes.
  • Collaborate with team members, electricians, and other technical staff to clarify schematic details and resolve build questions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all workplace safety guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with electrical schematics and the ability to read, interpret, and elaborate on schematic details.
  • Strong electrical wiring skills, including experience with control panel wiring and electrical assembly.
  • Ability to correctly identify and differentiate between wire gauges, including 12-gauge and 14-gauge wire.
  • Industrial electrical experience, particularly in environments involving machinery installation and control systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical assembly and control panel fabrication.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams for control panels.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when assembling and wiring electrical components.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and correcting wiring or assembly issues.
Work Environment

This role operates in an industrial or manufacturing environment focused on electrical control panel assembly. You will work primarily on a first-shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., spending most of the day on your feet while performing hands-on electrical and mechanical tasks. The work involves regular use of electrical tools, hand tools, and equipment associated with panel building and machinery installation, in a setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to technical standards.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
