Welder

Job Summary

Responsible for insuring quality welding maintenance by performing general welding repairs on all company equipment in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

• Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location.
• Read and comprehend simple blueprints.
• Perform all types of welding processes.
• Assist other welders and complete special projects for the shop supervisor as requested.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and use all required safety equipment and procedures.
• Use power tools safely (hand grinder, bench grinder, air chipper, cutoff saw and drill press).
• Operate and drive light and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Be forklift certified.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Willingness to travel for site visits as needed.
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

• Experience and ability in welding processes using stick and MIG.
• Experience and ability to operate a plasma cutter.
• Experience and ability to operate a cutting torch and track torch.
• Ability to weld uphill and overhead.
• Operate a service truck including welder, compressor and crane operations.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations.
• Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
• Willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as required.
• Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment.

• Lift objects of various dimensions up to 100 lbs. frequently.
• Repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
• Repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects.
• Use vibration tools repeatedly.
• Tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
• Repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing, walking or sitting.
• Repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces.
