POSITION SUMMARY:

The employee will be required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned. The employee will be required to work in close relation to his/her peers and all other Mid-Del employees.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must clear all necessary criminal and vehicular background checks.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Oklahoma license for motor vehicles.
  • Must maintain confidential information of sensitive nature.
  • Applicant must document a minimum of three (3) years’ experience (combined) in the area of locks and doors as a locksmith. Applicant must also be currently licensed and in good standing as a Locksmith Technician through the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Employee's primary function shall be but not limited to functioning as a working Locks and Doors Journeyman, and to aid in coordinating the efforts of the department by communication and planning with fellow Journeyman, Foreman, and Apprentices. Regularly must work in confined spaces above, below, and at ground level. Regularly must work in aerial bucket ladder or cat walk at a height not to exceed 110'.
  • Must be proficient in the application of the International and BOCA Building Codes, and all applicable state and local codes as they apply to the areas of Locks & Doors.
  • Must communicate and consult with faculty and staff to explain methods and procedures related to keying databases and locksmith operations. Must consult with administrators, contractors, architects, project managers, and engineers on new construction and remodel projects. Generate, and maintain multiple computerized databases to minimize duplication of master key systems through tracking and cataloging of keys, maintain records and security files. Maintain keying systems codes and spreadsheets for locks and doors department.
  • Shall be required to train administrators, faculty, and staff of policies, procedures, management, and the use of Schlage Everest T restricted keying system for the District. Must be skilled in the maintenance and troubleshooting of door hardware, locks and framework. Maintain an annual written log of all fire doors in the District in order to comply with NFPA 101 Life Safety and Fire Codes, and to assure compliance with all State and Local jurisdictions having authority.
  • Must be skilled in blueprint and representative drawings interpretation of buildings. Must have the ability to operate various software programs to, include but not be limited to word processors and spread sheets.
  • Shall on occasion, work in close relationship with the Director of Maintenance and Construction, Supervisor of Maintenance and Construction, and Carpentry Foreman in the budgeting, maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment. On occasion may be required to assist the Director of Maintenance and Construction, Supervisor of Maintenance and Construction, and Carpentry Foreman with coordinated planning, designing, and installation of new construction and/or remodel projects.

    Employee shall have a general knowledge of all purchases made from all vendor accounts assigned to the Locks/Doors sections. Employee shall regularly be required to secure price quotes on projects being considered. Employee shall be required to assemble these quotes in a format that can be understood by administrators. The employee will also be required to review detailed inventory accounts from all Locks/Doors personnel prior to their being submitted yearly.
  • Must become knowledgeable in the Mid
    - Del Schools Confined Spaces Program and coordinate the proper application of it in the entire Locks & Doors section. Must become knowledgeable in the Mid
    - Del Schools Lockout/Tagout Program and coordinate the proper application of it.
  • Employee shall be responsible for the issuance of Key Codes for all new and used construction projects. Employee shall also be responsible for keeping all sites informed of changes in key code policies and shall be responsible for them understanding objectives of new key coding systems. Employee shall maintain the integrity of all keying systems and their intent as instructed by the Director of Maintenance & Construction, the Supervisor of Maintenance & Construction, and the Carpentry Foreman.
