Job Summary

The Facilities Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a manufacturing facility by performing maintenance, repair, and improvement of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures that production areas, utilities, and facility assets remain in optimal working conditions to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, compressed air, and building controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues to support manufacturing operations and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure, such as lighting, doors, docks, roofs, floors, and structural components.
  • Support installation, relocation, and modification of equipment, coordinating with production, engineering, and outside contractors.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation in the CMMS.
  • Assist with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance, including inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks, such as carpentry, painting, welding, or light machining, depending on skill set.
  • Monitor facility utilities (water, gas, electrical, compressed air) and report abnormalities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility reliability, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including equipment failures, weather events, or facility incidents.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related trade.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in manufacturing environments (heat, noise, heights, confined spaces).
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self‑motivated with a focus on safety and reliability.
