Job Summary

EMCOR Government Services, Inc. is seeking an energetic Critical Facilities Technician to serve as a technical resource and leader for DISA Data Centers in Oklahoma City, OK.

The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The Critical Facilities Technician is responsible for the overall operation of all electrical, mechanical, HVAC and life-safety equipment within the data center. The Critical Facilities Technician will assist in maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum.

This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

The Critical Facilities Technician is a front line technical specialist responsible for hands on troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of mission critical data center infrastructure. This includes electrical systems (generators, UPS, switch gear, PDUs, batteries), mechanical systems (CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, motors), and supporting systems such as BAS controls and fire suppression.

This role is a 3rd shift opening.

$28-36/hr

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee and maintain critical data center infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance with performance standards.
  • Support installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions across mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and control systems.
  • Manage critical power distribution from utility/generator systems through UPS to customer load.
  • Ensure fire/life safety systems—including wet, pre action, clean agent suppression, and detection devices—remain fully operational.
  • Conduct inspection rounds, document deficiencies, and ensure corrections are completed.
  • Assist with O&M tasks, facility improvements, and IDIQ project execution.
  • Coordinate with third party vendors; ensure SLA compliance and completion of PM activities.
  • Complete work orders and ensure deliverables align with contract requirements.
  • Participate in after hours on call rotation and lead system recovery efforts when issues arise.
  • Collaborate closely with the Facility Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager.
  • Comply with all PPE and safety requirements.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is essential to satisfactory performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of data-center electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Must have at least three years of experience working in a data center or similar mission-critical environment.
  • Familiarity with generators, transformers, switch gear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, and clean agent suppression.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, and arc flash protection.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system diagrams.
  • Skilled in using critical monitoring systems, trending data, and troubleshooting industrial equipment (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, VFDs, BAS/PLC, HVAC equipment).
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment.
