Field/Service Technician, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for providing onsite start-up, service, and support to customers. The position will be responsible for communication with their customers to coordinate site visits and provide technical support and training. When field support is not needed, the position will provide technical support remotely by phone or email to assist customers in solving installation, performance, or operational problems.
The position must have strong customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally of the company.
- Field Support
- Communicate with customers to coordinate field site visits and follow-up post site visit as needed.
- Travel to job sites to start up and commission Clima Cool products.
- Travel to job sites to assess the operation of previously started-up equipment
- Issue well-written, accurate reports of trip findings and activities and completing required documentation in a timely manner.
- Interface/interact as necessary with Field personnel, Rep agency, Engineering teams and customers during problem assessment and resolution
- Provide on-site direction to personnel at job site locations when performing rework of product or setup of product
- Product Knowledge
- Knows and can explain Clima Cool product features/benefits.
- Technical Skills
- Understands fundamental HVAC concepts, including refrigeration and controls.
- Can interpret equipment electrical drawings and diagrams.
- Understands the field installation of chillers, water source heat pump equipment and accessories.
- Can use a laptop and other technology to access documents, use service software, and complete reports.
- Work Environment/Safety
- Promotes mutual respect while maintaining compliance to regulatory, ordinance or code requirements, and company policies and programs.
- Remains calm in tense situations
- Phone Center Technical Support.
- Support multiple product lines
- Gather base information
- Work through standard troubleshooting to arrive at issues or causes and work towards resolution.
Education: AS/BS preferred or HVAC Trade school completion
Experience: Minimum 5 years HVAC and chiller experience (Commercial experience preferred)
Computer
Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Certificates & Licenses: HVAC license preferred; EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification (required or attained within 90-days)
Other Requirements: The candidate must also be willing and able to travel domestically.
