Position: Child Welfare Specialist IV - OKDHS ONLY - Pathways to Launch

Child Welfare Specialist IV - H23D

Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits

Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%. Hours worked may be on-call, extended and/or weekend hrs. On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities. Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
  • OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
  • OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as lead worker or backup supervisor to lower-level Child Welfare Specialists in the Pathways To Launch unit within OK Successful Adulthood (OKSA).
  • Serves as team leader in case staff meetings, provide on-going case consultation, and advises and trains lower-level Child Welfare Specialists in case management and interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Manages caseload of young adults ages 18-21 participating in the Pathways to Launch extended foster care program through OKSA. May carry complex and difficult caseloads.
  • Assists young adults in developing, implementing, and updating a transition plan;
    Provides regular reports to an administrative review team on the progress of the transition plan.
  • Assists young adults in skill development, obtaining resources, and securing safe and stable housing.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with community resources, which includes making referrals and follow-up to ensure the initiated services and supports are appropriate to meet the needs of the young adults.
  • Flexible schedule to be available for crisis management if necessary. Hours may vary and include nights and weekends.
  • Position includes travel and client transportation.
