Basic Purpose The Community Outreach Coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships between the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and communities across the state. This position plans, coordinates, and implements outreach initiatives that increase public awareness and understanding of ODOT’s projects, programs, and services. The ideal candidate is personable, highly organized, and passionate about relationship-building and public service. This role requires the ability to respond quickly, manage information effectively, think creatively, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Experience in community outreach, event planning, and the transportation industry is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
    Build and maintain positive relationships with communities, partners, stakeholders, nonprofits, schools, and local agencies throughout Oklahoma, with priority given to communities directly impacted by ODOT projects
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Oklahoma communities and the transportation industry to support effective engagement
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of community contacts, partners, and stakeholders for use in community engagement and public involvement efforts
  • Outreach Programming and Materials:
    Develop outreach programs and initiatives aligned with ODOT’s goals and strategic priorities
