Job Purpose- The Family Empowerment Program Coordinator at the Community Action Agency of Oklahoma will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs aimed at empowering families within the community. This role involves developing strategies to support families in achieving self-sufficiency, enhancing their quality of life, and fostering a nurturing environment for growth. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in connecting families with resources, services, and opportunities that promote their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage family empowerment programs that align with the agency's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and service providers to enhance program offerings and ensure comprehensive support for families.
- Conduct assessments to identify family needs and tailor programs to address specific challenges and opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to families, helping them navigate available resources and services to achieve self-sufficiency.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes and impact.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions to educate families on various topics such as financial literacy, parenting skills, and health and wellness.
- Prepare reports and documentation to track program progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with agency standards and funding requirements.
- Advocate for family empowerment initiatives within the community, raising awareness and promoting participation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources, social services, and best practices in family empowerment.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects the diversity and unique needs of each family served.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination or management within a community service or social work setting.
- Proven track record of working with diverse families and communities to empower and support them in achieving self-sufficiency.
- Experience in developing and implementing family support programs or services.
- Previous experience in supervising staff or volunteers is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, community resources, and social service systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations and service providers.
- Proficient in program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
