The Leidos NISC IV program has an opening for a Software Engineer to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK and support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple mission critical IT projects from new development to sustainment. The candidate must have hands‑on experience developing large and complex IT projects while ensuring a quality outcome. This position is responsible for the architecture of IT solutions that includes complex systems for the federal government. The candidate must have experience designing and implementing .NET,
Model View Controller (MVC) framework, Oracle/MSSQL solutions.
The candidate must have experience developing technical planning, rough order of magnitude (ROM), Context Diagram, Concept Diagrams, Risks, requirements analysis, functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. The candidate must have experience architecting technical refresh and converting legacy systems into web-based and cloud-based enterprise applications using load balancing technologies.

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or similar area and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with MVC, C#.NET, ASP.NET, , Web Services, XHTML and CSS.
- Experience with Visual Studio C++ (VSC++), C++/17 and higher standards.
- Experience with developing native Windows desktop applications and cross-platform development using Swift for iOS/iPadOS development
. - Hands‑on expertise with 2D graphics development and legacy rendering APIs, like GDI and GDI+.
- Familiarity with 3D graphics engines like Unreal Engine 5 (UE5),
socket programming
, XML/JSON
, and real‑time audio software development
. - Demonstrated 3D
modeling and texturing skills using industry‑standard tools (e.g.,
Blender
, Autodesk Maya) - Hands‑on experience constructing and managing automated CI/CD build pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Sonar Qube
, etc. - Demonstrated proficiency with unit testing and test automation using frameworks like Google Test
. - Practical experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools (e.g.,
Git Hub Copilot
, Claude,
Gemini
) throughout the SDLC. - Experience designing/implementing extensible/maintainable object‑oriented architectures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass FAA security screening for positions of public trust.
- Familiarity with the Federal Government work environment.
- Familiarity with FAA configuration management and transitioning systems to operations including change control board, Application Data Center (ADC), Enterprise Data Center (EDC) and MKS tickets.
- Experience with the FAA IT security compliance process.
While a clearance is not required to be considered for the position, the ability to obtain a clearance (i.e., Public Trust) is required if hired.
