Bus Driver

Position Overview

The Bus Driver at Crutcho Public School ensures the safe and efficient transportation of elementary and middle school students to and from campus. Working within the district's 5-day school week schedule, the driver operates school buses over designated routes, adheres strictly to state traffic laws, and maintains a safe, disciplined environment on the bus.

• Safe Transportation: Transport pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students safely along designated routes, adhering to strict schedules and time frames.
• Student Management: Maintain order and enforce bus safety rules among students during transit; report disciplinary issues to the school administration.
• Vehicle Inspection: Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections daily to check brakes, tires, lights, and fluids, ensuring the vehicle is safe to operate.
• Safety & Emergency Protocol: Ensure all security and safety measures are met; respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations or adverse weather conditions.
• Maintenance Reporting: Report mechanical defects or required maintenance immediately to the transportation supervisor; keep the interior of the bus clean and free of debris.

• Licensing: Must possess a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Education & Age: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, and must meet the state's minimum age requirement for school bus operation.
• Background Clearance: Must successfully pass a comprehensive fingerprinting and criminal background check, a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and regular mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.
• Driving Record: Must maintain a clean driving record with no recent major traffic violations.

• Schedule: Split-shift schedule (morning and afternoon routes) aligned with the district's 4-day instructional work week
