The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This role plays a key part in accurate receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment using mobile devices and Oracle WMS.
Responsibilities- Safely unload inbound freight and verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage and accurately document discrepancies.
- Receive product into Oracle WMS, including unit-of-measure conversions, labeling, and inventory transactions.
- Apply LPN and product labels and move inventory to assigned warehouse locations using mobile devices.
- Execute replenishment tasks to support operational throughput and inventory availability.
- Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts in accordance with company SOPs and OSHA regulations.
- Transport materials between receiving, storage, production, and shipping locations.
- Properly stack, store, and position pallets to maximize safety, space utilization, and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Meet established productivity, quality, and safety performance expectations.
- Support other inbound, inventory, and distribution functions as business needs require.
- Maintain forklift cleanliness and perform pre-shift inspections.
- Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
- Interact professionally with all team members and departments.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and RF/mobile scanning devices.
- Oracle WMS experience.
- Knowledge of receiving, inventory control, and distribution operations.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and complete operational documentation accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
- Good hand-eye coordination and visual awareness for safe equipment operation.
