Scholastic is Hiring! Position:
Warehouse Associate - part-time, seasonal.

Schedule:

08:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Weekdays). Hourly Rate: $15.00.

Scholastic hosts book fairs that reach thousands of students and families, providing affordable educational products to promote literacy.

Assist in the production of book fairs by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with books and non-book products, following corporate procedures and maintaining productivity and quality standards. Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for cases, boxes, and displays, consistently meeting accuracy and quality benchmarks. Ensure outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition. Process returned book fairs by unpacking metal cases, boxes, and displays, maintaining quality standards.

Monitor inventory levels to support proper packing of book fairs.

Learn and demonstrate basic scanner proficiency for item inquiries and replenishment requests. Assist in picking and packing customer reorders. Keep work area neat, clean, safe, and organized. Participate in seasonal inventory production‑line resets and physical inventory functions, including counting inventory. Perform Fair Finishing and Assembly functions and quality assurance scanning. Hold merchandise responsibly and safely, reporting any unsafe conditions, equipment damage, or injuries to supervisor or manager immediately.

Use proper lifting, packing, and handling techniques, climb ladders, and push/pull display cases. Complete Labor Data Collection Cards in a timely manner according to company standards. Operate motorized pallet jacks upon completion of the SBF power equipment training program. Maintain attendance and punctuality. Maintain positive, courteous relationships with co‑workers and customers. Abide by the drug and alcohol free policy. Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.

Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency with minimal errors. Strong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic math skills and ability to read English documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally on a daily basis.
• Lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs to a height of 70” occasionally.
• Push wheeled cases that may weigh over 300 lbs, applying initial force up to 50 lbs and sustained force up to 30 lbs.
• Stand, reach above and below shoulders, squat, bend, and kneel as necessary.
• Tolerate work in a non‑air‑conditioned environment.
• Accurately follow detailed assembly instructions and use hands to handle, reach, talk, or hear.
• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl frequently; sometimes sit, climb, or balance.
• Maintain close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and focus adjustments.
