Job Title

Administrative Assistant I, Agency 400, Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA), Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center, Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Position Type

Full time, Regular.

Basic Purpose

Provide administrative support for program areas and support functions, serve as assistant to administrators or officials, including supervising administrative or clerical units and managing confidential files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and assign projects to staff.
  • Develop and implement special procedures.
  • Initiate correspondence following agency policies.
  • Maintain confidential or complex files.
  • Interpret and advise internal and external customers on rules, regulations, and laws.
  • Prepare invoices, payments, requisitions, purchase orders, and perform fiscal duties.
  • Supervise subordinate staff if required.
  • Represent agency or program in meetings, conferences, and civic organizations.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external customers.
  • Establish educational and training programs.
  • Interview callers, arrange appointments, and manage office details.
  • Enter and retrieve information using PC and data processing equipment; correct data as needed.
Other Duties

Support mission, vision, values, policies, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior. Multi‑task, adapt to changing timelines, maintain discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy. Work effectively in a team, building strong relationships and collaborating with staff at all levels.

Compensation

Annual salary: $34,054.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of technical clerical office work or equivalent education/experience.

Special Requirements
  • Willingness to travel for job‑related duties.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license for operating state‑owned vehicles.
  • Pass OSBI and FBI background checks.
  • 12‑month trial period.
