The District is a government agency whose mission is to protect water resources, minimize flood risks, and ensure the public’s water needs are met. We serve a population of nearly 6million people in west-central Florida as directed by state law.
Join our Procurement Services OfficeGain valuable hands‑on experience supporting our Procurement Services Office and working alongside procurement specialists on real‑world purchasing and contracting activities. You’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of teams in this promising position, each of which plays a vital role in our efforts to preserve our most valuable natural resources. The District offers the Student Internship Program to provide students with real work experience and specific hands‑on knowledge related to the chosen course of study.
This internship opportunity is not eligible for remote work, all work will be conducted at the District Brooksville, FL office.

- Training and Development:Having a successful career takes more than technical training. The District helps our staff develop additional skill sets, such as emotional intelligence, time management, customer service, conflict resolution, communications and more. Essential Functions
- Assist Procurement Services staff with collection and storage of vendor performance records
- Aide Procurement Specialists with solicitation process
- Scheduling appointments
- Administrative Reviews
- Research projects
- Other assignments as needed
Work will be conducted in an office environment setting and requires the ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Required Credentials for Procurement Student Intern- High School diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or other recognized educational or vocational program
- Maintain a minimum GPAof 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred Degrees: Business Management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS
- Oral and written communication skills
- Data Entry Skills
