About this role:

We are a robotics startup on a mission to transform how utility-scale solar farms are built. Our technology automates the mechanical installation processes that have traditionally relied on massive manual labor forces—and we need experienced construction leaders who understand that work inside and out to help us deploy it.

As our Site Superintendent, you will serve as the on-site authority for all construction activities— tracker/racking assembly, and module installation—while working hand-in-hand with our robotics and automation engineering teams. You bring deep field knowledge of how solar farms are built today, and you are energized (not threatened) by the opportunity to help reshape how they will be built tomorrow.

This is not a traditional EPC role. You will operate in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still being defined, feedback loops are short, and your field expertise will directly influence product development and deployment strategy.

What you will do:

Field Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and direct Foremen, and craft labor on-site, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all mechanical scopes.

  • Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to maximize production while controlling costs.

  • Develop and maintain crew matrices, equipment plans, and production schedules; continuously reconcile actuals against established work plans and budgets.

  • Provide hands-on mentorship and structured coaching to field supervision, building the next generation of solar construction leaders.

  • Serve as acting project leader and primary contact to our customer.

Robotics Deployment

  • Partner with robotics engineers and field application teams to deploy automated installation equipment alongside traditional construction methods.

  • Provide real-world construction feasibility feedback that informs equipment design, workflow sequencing, and deployment playbooks.

  • Champion adoption of new tools and processes among field crews, bridging the gap between technology development and jobsite realities.

  • Assist in documenting operational learnings, field performance data, and process improvements that accelerate product iteration.

Safety & Quality

  • Champion a culture of safety—enforce company, EPC, and OSHA safety regulations without exception.

  • Manage employee training covering work methods, high-risk activities (cranes, rigging, telehandlers, DOT, LOTO, arc flash), JHAs, and site-specific hazards.

  • Ensure all construction activities conform to the project Quality Plan and that craftsmanship expectations are clearly communicated to every crew member, vendor, and subcontractor.

You'll succeed in this role if you:
  • Have a track record leading mechanical construction on utility-scale solar EPC projects (pile, racking/tracker, and module installation).

  • Can supervise large, multi-crew field operations and manage diverse teams of craft workers and subcontractors.

  • Have strong working knowledge of tools, heavy equipment, and their safe application on solar construction sites.

  • Are able to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

  • Have a solid understanding of job costing principles and the ability to track and report cost performance.

  • Are familiar with applicable federal, state, and local construction codes and safety regulations.

  • Can communicate effectively and interface confidently with owners, clients, engineers, and field personnel.

  • Have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Enjoy life on the road — are willing to relocate to project sites as needed (travel up to 80 90% will be required during deployments).

It'd also be nice if you:
  • Have experience working within a startup, early-stage company, or rapidly evolving operational environment.

  • Have comfort with ambiguity—you thrive when standard playbooks do not yet exist and you help write them.

  • Are curious about robotics, automation, and emerging construction technology.

  • Have experience with process improvement, lean construction, or continuous improvement initiatives.
